MY INVOLVEMENT

These are some examples:-

A resident had been complaining for months about the 'condition' of this fence until he came to me. Within days the mess was sorted - albeit a little longer to get a replacement fence!

 

I campaigned succesfully to keep the licence to hold the Annual Fair to five years. The proposal was to reduce it to one year.

 

I proposed that the Annual Civic Ceremony to open the fair be re-introduced after many years of absence. My colleagues agreed with me.

 

This young man (the one in the middle!) asked me to help him in his endeavours to find his father, who he believed to be in this area. I was happy to do so. Alas, so far, no luck.

 

Helping to resolve issues with young drivers at Wentworth Street Car Park.

 

Help young drivers set up their club 'Malton Cruzers' together with PC Jane Jones.

 

Help out with 'Operation Enable' in Wentworth Street - a community support joint services event.

 

Organised and chaired public meetings to bring different organisation representatives together to sit on a panel to be questioned by residents. Very lively at times!

 

 

A seminar held on Web Sites for Councillors. I believe technology is the way forward to help communicate with, and to keep residents informed, on issues that concern them - plus I don't want people saying about me "We only see him at election time" My web sites tell you exactly what I do........

 

The lady had waited 18 months and still nothing had been done to prune this tree - which was blocking the light to her home - until she contacted me. It's done now !!!
