Traffic Lights - Newbiggin

(Are they a Problem?)

Sunday night and i just witnessed first accident at the new traffic light junction. Car travelling up Newbiggin travelling too fast trying  to beat the lights lost control & demolished one of the traffic light posts. Fortunateley no one was injured but i had walked passed the point of impact just 2 minutes earlier with my family.

This was an accident just waiting to happen so many cars are now traveling faster to get  through the lights before they change. I have complained about this to  the police, highways etc but nobody wants to know. I was told the lights were put there for safety reasons, tonights crash just shows they are not working.

Since these lights were installed the traffic at this junction is total chaos, far worse than before, i have lived near this junction for twelve years.


I know that you were opposed to the lights, it would make good sense to get rid of these now, there was never a problem before & 99% of the people i have asked agree.


Can you please put these points over to the people in control of these things & see if you can get them to see sense.
